Title: Can PPL post which ATI Video Card they Own
Post by: Zipper Doyle on July 01, 2002, 10:10:11 am
Hey,

Looked through various message boards and have found that a lot of people prefer using the ATI video cards for outputting to a TV through S-Video.  Can you please post the following so I can get a good feel of which one to purchase.

1)  Which Model (ex.  ATI Radeon 8500 64mb)
2)  Price range you payed for it.
3)  How do you like it?

Thanks

I have ati rage fury pro.it was to use a tv for.i just cant stand tv.looks bad.its not the tv,the card.its me.i bought vga arcade monitor before the tv idea.so i just couldn't go back from vga to tv.but the card it self work very good.it has s-video output and av input.i use the av inputs to hook up my ps2.since ps2 wont output vga singnal.why buy vga box then.it will look the same.i paid $79 long time ago.now its maybe $30 or so.

1) ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder 32MB
2) $39.00  ;) (Get to know the PC dept. mgr at your local Best Buy)
3) It's a great card for MAME, and video recording (TIVO-esque).  It can handle most current PC games well, but I expect that will change soon (DOOM 3 maybe?)

Hi,

I use a fairly old ATI All-in-Wonder 8mb PCI card.  But, I don't output to a TV, I decided to use a 20" monitor I found on ebay for $150.  I'm still using the AiW because everything appears perfectly on the screen in mame and nesticle, and I can use the coax input to double the arcade machine as a tv when i'm not playing.  I paid probably over a hundred dollars for the card back when it first came out.  Now you can get it for peanuts.
