Anyone know what cabinet the Laser Unicorns arcade cabinet was in the movie Kung Fury? Looks like a mix of Joust and Robocop....
-
How about a pic? I don't want to watch that again.
-
I loved that movie. Right up my ally.

I thought it was AMAZING.
-
Sure, Sure, it WAS amazing. I just don't want to watch it again. There are very few films I ever want to watch again... what's the point when we are constantly bombarded with new content 24/7?

My love of cinema prevents my brain from processing that comment.
-
It shouldn't. 99% of all film is crap with 0.9% acceptable at best. The remaining 0.01% is the art that's worth appreciating.

Damn Howard. Yots said it best...
Remind me to never go to the movies with any of you ---saint's minions---. :)
Here is your pic by the way...

Looks centipede-esque from that angle.
-
slow day at work....

wire frame taken from this behind the scenes video:

Looks like it's based on centipede to me.
EDIT: with something like a 24" vertical screen
-
The closest I can find is Magic sword..... there is a wood grain variant.
Both early taito and dataeast (pre curved marquee) machines used this cabinet. It's a generic one afaik though, I don't think it was ever used for a dedicated machine.
-
Now the question is should I build a Kung Fury cabinet. Hell if I cant even identify a Centipede cabinet maybe I shouldnt.

Does a Laser Unicorns game exist?
It would be quite the letdown to see a Laser Unicorns arcade machine and find out that I can't play laser Unicorns.
I like the concept of the cab as a parody of the 80's in general, but I think it needs the game.
-
There is a game and it's on sale for $1.49 :lol

EDIT: eh, still need a game called Laser Unicorns

Unfortunately that game is terrible.

Unfortunately that game is terrible.
What? Then I just wasted $1.49 :banghead:
It doesn't really matter, as I don't play any of the steam games that I bought because they were cheap.
-
Get a refund on it. I did. I bought it the day it came out, played for TWO MINUTES, then requested a refund.
IT'S THAT BAD.
-
So if I built a Kung Fury cab I would essentially be doing the following:

It's like a 20MB download, steal it and check it out for yourself. It's a shame as they really nailed a lot of the atmosphere and feel.
Maybe some day someone will turn it into a side scrolling beat em up....

Aren't you doing that with any cab?
I bet they'd give you the artwork if you asked.
