Can anyone recommend a decent Dragon Quest, Shining in the Darkness style app for Android?
-
What about emulators? There are some good ones for Android.
-
Yeah I got started on the second Golden Sun but lost my phone with the GBA app I had and I'm not doing air rock again in Golden Sun to carry over a party.
Maybe I'll give the gba emulator another go.
-
OOC, which emulators do you use? I've been using the John NES, SNES and GBA line and found they've worked well. But I'm curious as to other options.
-
I use MyBoy for GBA, but I found a Download link for the full version outside of the play store.
For Sega, I've used GENPlusDroid, it's not bad but don't really have much to compare it to.

does it use device space or microsd card?

I'm not a Android user, but the Final Fantasy releases are pretty solid on iPhone. The amazon appstore (http://slickdeals.net/f/8189953-final-fantasy-classics-apps-on-sale-10-29-11-26-via-amazon-appstore) has a bunch on sale. Of corse you could use an emulator to play the original versions of these games but the remakes have some nice extras.
If you go with an emulator, there's some creative hacked versions of a lot of the old 16-bit error RPG's out there. I have about 25 hacked versions for games for the SNES & Genesis. FF6 General Leo Edition (http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1619/) and Brave New World (http://www.insanedifficulty.com/board/index.php?/topic/6055-brave-new-world-160-is-now-available/) are two FF6 mods that immediately come to mind.

For the Roms? I'm pretty sure you can put them wherever you want

I use an NES emulator because NES doesn't have many buttons yet has lots of good games. RPGs are good because there's not a lot of precision button play. I use Nostalgia NES Lite. Easy to set up, save states, small download.
