Title: Couple of ArcadeOS Questions?
Post by: General Zod on January 02, 2004, 09:16:55 pm
I just have 2 questions ...

First, during the holiday season I had this little snowy background running during the AOS selection screen ... and now it's gone.  >:(   I never gave it a second thought while it was there, and pretty much assumed it would stay.

I was wrong !!

Is there anyway I can get it back?

Also, I'm trying to make a custom screen for my background, and I must be doing something wrong. Does anyone know the right compression to use when generating a PCX file? 8bit-16bit?

Thanks a bunch !    ;)

I had that red and green/snow appear last year at the holidays but not this year. I too would like to turn it on all the time as well. Anyone?

Thank you Peale for the Smart@ss remark.  ;) You just couldn't resist the urge to say something stupid, could ya?

Funny thing is , that never even crossed my mind.  Who would have thunk that all I needed to do was alter the clock and I'd be in bizness .

I don't care what they say about ya , you're alright in my book !!   :D

I was only hoping someone might have figured out how to alter the .cfg file. There is a version called AOS+ that features the snow constantly regardless the colour scheme. Not a big deal, but it looks nice when nobody is playing the cab.

Who's being a smart ass?  I was being serious!

I'm guessing you never did any batch file "programming" but if you place this in your autoexec.bat:

date 12/25/2003

IIRC (it's been a while since I used that command) it should just change the date to Dec 25, 2003 every time the machine boots.

I'm just razzin' ya Peale, you know that. I am well aware of date changes for the enjoyment of certain softwares.

I know exactly what you mean! Everything's cool mate.  ;)

No hard feelings , right?  :o
