Since the new Mortal Kombat X is out now, I decided to do a little project to kind of pay tribute to Mortal Kombat and maybe just get a little nostalgic feeling out of it as well.
I am building a 1/5 scale Mortal Kombat 1 arcade machine and I'm trying to keep the size as true with everything about the original as I can. In other words, if you see a close up pic of my arcade machine, I'm hoping that you won''t really be able to tell it from the full size.
I had followed a few threads back in the day and had the repaired and corrected Mortal Kombat 1 cabinet artwork, but have since lost the hard drive that they were on. I remember it being a pretty painstaking process repairing and restoring the art.
If there is anyone out there that can help me get a copy of the artwork for Mortal Kombat 1 cabinet, it would be greatly appreciated. I am stuck right now and can't move forward with my project till I can get the artwork sized and printed just right.
I have most of my cabinet pieces sanded, primed, and painted. Here are a few pics to show where I'm at.
Let me know,
Thanks

Nice mini. I don't know if I have what you are looking for, but send you a PM..

Should've done a mortal kombat 2. It's a better game :lol
But I do like that mk1 is actually possible to beat. I mean has anybody ever beat 2 or 3? Or are they impossible?
But I do really like this little project and I hope you find what you need. I would like to see this complete.

As far as playing the old Mortal Kombat games go, I probably like 3 the best and you will be able to play any of those on this little build.
I wanted to go with the original Mortal Kombat 1 arcade cabinet for the fact that it started it all. It is more of an art piece to me than anything else. I get to look over at it and remember the good old days of arcades.
Since everything is scaled down the buttons are going to be small and close together. It is not going to be something that you and a buddy can stand side by side and play, at least not comfortable. I do plan on putting in a wireless controller adapter, so that if anyone does want to play it, they can use wireless 360 controllers.
I'm kind of shocked that nobody has the art for this. I had heard that (thisoldgame) website was the best place for arcade graphics and custom printing, but I emailed them about a week ago and got no replay. I do a lot of graphic design, so I started rebuilding some of the artwork yesterday. It is coming along pretty well. I'll keep you up to date on the progress or make a thread in the build section. It is pretty cool trying to sculpt and make parts on a smaller scale for something like this, not to mention, all the electronics involved.

Have you seen this thread?

Yeah, that was one of the threads I followed back in the day when the MK1 art was being restored, but there are no working download links in that thread and I tried contacting ThisOldGame with no luck.

Hmm well I have seen some for sale maybe they will custom size it for you.. But idk. Either that or recreate it somehow.

Kool looking

can you send me the measurements on the sides? I can probably recreate a very convincing piece of side art for that?

Any progress on this ? I'd love to get the design and try my hand at it
