Title: Halloween Controller
Post by: SilentWanderer on April 12, 2015, 07:41:15 pm
After coming up with my TestCade controller and getting some helpful information about Slagcoin and the joystick / button layout, I was showing someone at work all of the interesting projects on here and he wanted me to design and help him build a tabletop / lap controller.  After doing some looking around and sketching things down on paper, I have come up with a design that he likes.  Attached are the dimensions and the layout for the buttons and joystick, working on the side views now.  I am only concerned with how close the joystick is to the side.

Thinking that the grocery list would consist of

1x UltiMarc MagStick Plus to switch from 8 way to 4 way
3x Happ Yellow Buttons
3x Happ Orange Buttons
1x Happ Player 1 Button
1x Happ Black Insert Coin Button
1x Ultimarc IPac2 Interface

He loves Halloween very much so thinking that the entire controller would be black with orange or yellow t-molding around the top of the controller with the "legs" having the same t-molding.  Already ordered a few samples from the t-molding.com website to see how it lays out.  Not sure if he will go with actual printed artwork for the controller or not yet or a lexan style covering on the deck face.  He is still pondering the material to be used either MDF or Birch / 1/2" or 3/4".  It probably has a lot to do with what is available locally.  I made the design with 3/4" just in case.
