Title: Replacement Monitor Chassis from TIMEHARVEST?
Post by: GIjoe5589 on March 16, 2015, 10:25:35 pm
Hello All,

Just wanted to ask if anyone has ever ordered a replacement Monitor Chassis from a company called TIMEHARVEST?

Oddly enough, I found them on Newegg.com -

Thanks,

- Joey

What is your original monitor and what's wrong with it?  For $40 + $80 shipping you could probably get your original chassis professionally repaired and be better off.

$39 to buy the chassis and $80 to ship it? Oh come on, this is ridiculous.  ::)

The only good thing I can say is that chassis does not need an isolation transformer.

Hey Fellas,

I just found it interesting to see an Arcade Monitor chassis for sale on NewEgg :D

The current monitor that I have is the original one that shipped with my Galaga (Electrohome G07?)

At the moment, I think it just needs some adjusting as the screen is scrolling rapidly (potentially the HORZ. or VERT. hold?). After some tinkering, she should be back to normal. Back in the day, I bought a kit full of thin plastic tools designed for monitor adjustment from Bob Roberts but have since misplaced them.

Does anyone know where I could pick up a new set?

Also, is there a decent clip on mirror that you guys typically use to see the adjustments you're making to a monitor while you're actually turning the knobs? I hate having to keep getting up and going to the front of the cabinet.

Thanks,

- Joey

I have bought from TIME HARVEST before and they were very good, no problems.
i am in the UK, i believe they are based in Hong Kong.
the order was well packaged and took about 2 weeks to arrive.
for my order there was no imports costs or extra tax etc.
this is what i purchased, link below.
(they turned out to be the softest, lightest, quietest microswitches i have ever used (although mine were different from those pictured, so i assumed they used some kind of generic picture.. they are genuine Cherry brand though, really nice quality).

GC Electronics (a.k.a. GC/Waldom) sells a tripod stand and plexiglass front surface mirror made specifically for working behind the machine doing adjustments.

# 8378 Plexiglass mirror, 10" by 12"

# 8379 Adjustable stand for above mirror
