Anyone else watch this after The Walking Dead last Sunday night?
I also watched the second episode Monday night.
It looks like a prequel to the "Breaking Bad" series.
I was a little confused until I figured that out.
This looks promising, especially if you liked the Breaking Bad run.
The guy in the parking fee booth: I wonder if he is the same character he was in Breaking Bad? Thats what confused me until I realized this is a prequel. That character got killed in Breaking bad.

I'm liking it a little better than Breaking Bad so far. Saul is just hilarious and the show doesn't seem quite as dark as BB.
The parking lot guy is the same guy. The guy whose grandma he tries to scam was also in BB. Even Saul's mall job in the opening episode was talked about in BB. This is how you do a prequel.

Tuco Salamanca

I was thinking that. But wasn't sure.
I need to go back and watch BB on Netflix, but it would take a week of non stop watching to catch it all.

The opening scene where he was working at Cinnabon is after Breaking Bad. (I had to look this up because I didn't remember it), here's what I found:
The last time we saw Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad — in the penultimate episode, "Granite State" — he set Walter White up with a fixer who can erase your identity and give you a brand-new one. And Saul was signing up, too: "If I'm lucky, a month from now, best-case scenario, I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha."
That's why you hear him watching old "Better Call Saul" commercials on tape afterwards. I think the rest of what they've shown so far is pre-Breaking Bad. The guy in the parking booth is Mike. There was one other character from BB too, one of Tuco's henchmen, No-Doze (the one that "clarified" something Tuco said that made him mad...he did that in Breaking Bad out in the junkyard when Walt and Jesse were making a deal with Tuco and the Tuco beat him to death.)
Knowing how Vince Gilligan skipped around with the timeline on Breaking Bad quite a bit, I imagine he'll do the same on this one.
Liking the show so far and will keep watching. I wonder if we'll see Tuco's bell-ringing uncle Tio? ;D

I really liked the first two episodes. I thought the second one really got it going. Seems like they are going to jump between time periods a lot and I like that. Keeps it interesting. The segment in episode two where Saul was in the courtroom with all the different clients was great.
I'm really looking forward to this show each week.

I loved Breaking Bad and am loving Better Call Saul so far. I needed a REALLY good series after Breaking Bad ended, and finally they had to just give me more. Thanks Vince!

Slimeball lawyers are always entertaining. So far, it's better than expected.

Better Call Saul is getting better all the time.
Im glad the story of Mike is getting told.
Wondering when Saul will open his "Better call Saul office"?
-
If this doesn't get Jonathan Banks an Emmy, nothing will.

Man, I'm loving this show. I had a feeling it was going to be good, but knew instantly when they showed the jury the video the kids made in Episode one. So funny. Ugh, and the Mrs Kettlemen makes me wish I could reach into the screen and smack some sense into both of them!

Not yet, how long will that last? Good times and congruity just don't sell. haha

You said it. I keep waiting for that other shoe to drop. It is a great show.

You have to keep in mind when that post was made. Things have definitely gone darker since Feb 12th.

I still don't think it is as dark as BB. Not even close. Mike's backstory was dark but not nearly as dark as I imagined it would be.

I never said it was that dark, just darker than when it started.

Good show last night. I think I see how saul will get his new office now.
-
I'm liking the show....quite a bit to be honest.
I liked Breaking Bad, all be it I was really late to the party.
Mike was an awesome character, perhaps one of my favorite TV characters of all time.
The back story to Mike was an AWESOME episode.
Some episodes can be a little slow, but I like the build.
Does anyone know (if all went to plan) how many seasons they planned for ?
We know how it ends up for Saul, but how long til we get there ?

This show is supposed to start 6 years before the beginning of BB so they have quite a bit of time to work with. I'm really digging this spin off so let's hope it does well this first season.

Only 1 episode left? "Slippin' Jimmy" on the rise!
That HHM guy is a ---tallywhacker---, eh?

He really is a jerk. I'm curious where they go with him after this week. The twist with Jimmy's brother was brilliant. Maybe some of the dude's behavior was an act?

Yes, I'm wondering how much of it is him being a jerk and how much was him respecting the wishes of Jimmy's brother?

I had to pause the TV during the "Chicago Sunroof" story I was laughing so hard. :laugh2:
Odenkirk should get an Emmy.

like, i had an idea of where it was going, but then when he mentioned the tint level of the car "obstructing his judgment". :laugh2:

For Odenkirk fans I would highly recommend Fargo TV series. Only 1 season so far, and while he isn't a lead, still a lot of airtime for him. Great show.
