Lots of new stuff, go check it out! There's no documentation as of yet, but I'll fix that shortly. The ini file is HEAVILY comented though, so I'm sure you can at least get it up and running for now.
Enjoy!

Hey Howard,
I hate to say this but when I try to run Raging Dragon b5 on my 98SE cab I get a "Runtime Error 13 Type Mismatch" message and it won't run.
Thanks,
DMA

Make sure you install rd in a fresh directory since there is some MAJOR changes in almost all the configuration files.... also run the runme.bat and amke sure your ini is setup correctly... If that dosen't work let me know...

Howard,
I did that. I deleted my old dragon directory and created a new one for beta5. I think I have my ini file setup correctly, but I'll double check.
Thanks,

Shouldn't be hard, but I'm hoping eventually we can get director and vb to "like" each other, then I'll have )p( hook me up if he's willing. ;)
A 3d cab with videos is a million times better than a 2d fe with videos.

I got it to work--just started over from scratch and reset everthing up. I must have done something different this time...

Cool here's some notes about the ini file while we're onteh topic. When you get an "inproper syntax" or "invalid property value" immediately upon startup then 95% of the time it's a result of a typo in the ini file. (The other 5% it's because of a big screwup on my side.) That's how I knew what was going on.... Hopefully I'll be able to make it much more robust in the future, but for now you'll jsut hae to deal with vague error messages that don't tell you anything.
;D

One thing I have noticed with Beta 5 is that modeler or impact won't launch the games automatically anymore. It still brings up the associated emulator, but doesn't launch the game. It did work with Beta 4 last time I tried it...

AW works great with Director. All I have to do is drop an icon on the flow line and point to the directory movie. ;D I have done it yet but i am pretty sure you can pass variables between the very easy.

Hmmm I take that back..... it appears I have a corrupted section of code...... I was planning on releasing a patch this weekend, so I'll fix that to go along with the patch... Sorry

I sure am glad you said something.

Yeah I can display the director file no problem, but me and )p( have been having trouble passing info to and from the file from within vb.... hopefully you'll have better luck.

I would think it would be cool if the 3darcade would end up in other frontends...it would mean more support for models, backglasses and playfields and videos etc. And maybe mame on the cabinets themself
Not to mention that, but the presevation of a vital part of arcade games, mainly the cabinet itself! It's easy enough to store a rom image on your hd, or an old pcb in your closet, but cabs are often destroyed because they're just to darn big to keep around. I know we are no-where near this far along yet, but we could have cab owners submit measurements and photos of their cabs, so even if the actual cab perishes, there's a farily accurate 3d model of it available for anyone who would choose to re-create it in the future.
Oh I had one of those crazy ideas of mine last night. You could have the flyers and other misc artwork display in yoru 3d cab as well. Just when you stop scrolling, a large translucent panel could display the flyer in it either to the left or the right of the cabinet selected. Or you could even stretch the image around that cylinder in the bg. Just a thought, I know I'm jumping the gun now. :)
