Title: Creating marquee retainer angle
Post by: UFO on January 28, 2015, 06:36:52 pm
Hi All,

Any ideas anyone?

I have an acute angle on the top of my cab (see image).

Have any of you guys any ideas on how to sort this issue out? I'd like to avoid shaving off and levelling the wood, as this would be pretty much a nightmare.

Bending a length of angled metal also seems pretty impossible...??

Thanks all, :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

It is a little pricey but I ended up going with this to get around a similar problem.  It is more forgiving.

You could probably clamp a piece of aluminum angle iron in your vice (assuming you have one) and give it a few whacks with a mallet/hammer.

Otherwise, a metal brake like stated before.

Another cheep solution is to use a strip to hang posters on a wall. You can bend it open at the desired angle. Drill some holes in them to be able to screw them to your cabinet.

I did something similar with the carpet trim for stairs (I wanted a slightly wider trim) and used industrial velcro to attach the top for easy removal.
