Title: My first CP and Art
Post by: chrisindfw on December 19, 2003, 08:31:27 am
As I see many requests for people to "Critique my Control panel and artwork". Is there a thread or something dedicated for people to get their work critiqued?

Anyway. Here is my control panel. (click the link) I might be the only person on here that can live without a spinner. My panel will be interchangeable in the future but for now wanted to get things on it so I can set up all the connections to the computer and such.

My apologies if the image is large.

I would post the picture but it is way to big! I didnt want alot of artwork to clutter the panel. I did learn to move the 4 way away from the trackball :)

Any other suggestions?

Nice and clean and simple. I would change the ghosts though. go to the vector library they have the original ghosts there.

I like it.... I think you made me realize that I might need a shift button...

Nice idea to base the CP on pacman figures. Looks cool!

Maybe just some little lay-out matters to check out:
- the vertial spacing of the texts in the operations block seems a bit off (
- the dotted lines left and right are not vertically centered (the pills below "merge" awkwardly)

I would space your buttons the same vertically as they are horizontally. The two rows are too far apart. The ghosts have to go as well.  Nice classic design though.

Just a couple of notes...

You do realize that for player 2 to insert coins he'll have to reach accross player 1 every time... (Until you have your full cabinet, that is...)

You're missing the Player 2 label...

(This is just a nit-picky thing...)
Where the smaller Pac-Dots meet the big ones at the bottom corners, there are smaller ones overlapping the bigger ones a little... It just looks odd... Maybe if you could  center the columns of dots on the sides it could fix that... (It was just one of those thigs that caught my eye)

Otherwise you panel looks great & I'd keep the ghosts! (Maybe have 1 or 2 that aren't blue just for spontaneity's sake)
