Title: silver strike bowling monitor-"No Signal"
Post by: dawitz on September 06, 2014, 09:35:49 pm
Am new to this forum and troubleshooting video games.  Have a SSA bowling game and after about 2-3 minutes into a game, the screen would just go into "no signal" and I would have to reboot.   After rebooting, the screen would repeat the no signal. I let the game just sit there and after about 5 minutes,  it would do it again. I just replace the power supply but getting the same results.   Plan to order a new video card as this, I think,  would be the next step.  Has anyone ever seen this?  Dave

so the first thing to have done is to connect a pc monitor and see if it does the same thing
reseat the ram modules on the motherboard and look for any bad capacitors
check thermal paste on cpu and check cpu fan is running perfectly
try different graphic card

I found the problem in one of the video card caps.  it had white stuff coming out of the top like some kind of corrosion. (Sorry, don't know the correct term for that.)  Also the top of the cap was pushed out.  Tried another video card and its been working for about an hour or so.  Hopefully, it will last.  Thanks for your grantspain!
