Title: 21" NEC PC Monitor for cab acting up
Post by: HeadRusch on December 10, 2003, 01:20:54 pm
.....noticed it would be DIM upon bootup...then...when windows was initializing it would "snap" black and then the image would be displayed, full brightness.

This went on for months.

Then, looking at it one day, discovered that everything was starting to take on a yellowish tinge....and now yellow is "smearing" to the right of all text....in fact as I type this, the grey is off color and the normally "white" page background has a yellowish tinge, and off to the right edge I'm seeing streaks of yellowish color.

You know what "trails" are...wave a light around in the dark, and the light "trails"...?? Thats what I'm seeing on all the objects...like a yellowish trail that fades off the further right you go.

On my deep blue desktop background, the "trailing" on all icons and open windows appears as BLACK...

I'm HIGHLY disappointed in this NEC AccuSync.....my first one popped and stopped working 2 years into the warranty, which was replaced with this one......and this one was a refurb that is only a little more than a year in my posession, with no warranty on it.

*Sigh*...degaussing internally (menu item) has no effect...any idea whats up, and is it worth trying to find someplace to repair it??

That puppy is going to go almost all yellow soon. I have seen quite a few monitors do that. I don't know what the cause is, I have never bothered trying to repair PC monitors, they are more complicated than arcade monitors and there doesn't seem to be as much information out there about them.

So close, she went green. :P

The colors are hosed......its so damned heavy to lug around I'm not sure if I want to lug it to get it fixed somewhere, or just lug it to the trash...I'm opting for the trash......

Got a $300 Diamondtron flatscreen to replace it......better image too, go figure, but 18"........still, i've already adjusted..and the perfectly flat screen makes a huge difference...
