When I return to ArcadeOS after exiting MAME, it always brings me back to the desktop instead of back to ArcadeOS. This only happens under XP. I tried changing the compatibility settings but it doesn't help. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

I'm having this same problem on Windows ME.

I am seriously confused!!!! how are you guys using ArcadeOS in XP and ME. Are you using command prompt? I was under the impression that you needed pure DOS for ArcadeOS.

It's works fine through a DOS prompt for me (on win me.)
Just annoying that it minimizes the sceen everytime you leave a game to get back to arcadeOS. For now I'm going to use gamelauncher until I can figure out a fix for the problem.

Which version of mame are you using? Dos or Win mame? I noticed the same probelm when I was using win mame through windows 98 with Arcadeos. Even though I run Arcadeos through a dos prompt through windows, I still run the dos version of mame, but I really prefer using Advmame.67 dos and it seems to work even better!

I've been using DOS mame. Does this problem not happen with AdvMAME? I'm trying to get as much look and feel of dos as possible...

I was having the same problem, but I can't remember at the moment what I did to correct it? However, my setup right now is ArcadeOs using Advmame.67 Dos version running through windows 98 Dos prompt. I have XP, but I havent installed it yet, I was afraid that everything I have set up will no longer work. I would say give advmame 67 a try and see if that solves your problem. Advmame seem to work better than the regular version of mame. Let me know if it works for you, if does I think I'm going to do the XP upgrade to my system. I love using ArcadeOs, its easy to use and has lot of options!

I'll give advmame a try and see how it works. I'm running xp on my original machine and found game launcher to work much better. I don't know if you want take to that jump. It doesn't seem worth it.
