there is power to the monitor, and when I use the adjustment board I can see the screen display size change. I can also alter the brightness and see it change on the monitor, but there is no video. The only medium res board I have is Gauntlet Legends, and I am able to plug a VGA monitor into it and see a picture there. Would it be harmful to plug a standard res PCB in there just to see if anything pops, or maybe even Tekken 4 which supports high (vga) res output, just to eliminate it being the Gauntlet Legends board?

you can certainly feed it 15khz but of course the picture will be scrambled or doubled, can't remember which will happen

Yes. Try the 15khz board but if you are hooking up a VGA monitor to the Legends and you are getting a picture, then it's obviously set to output VGA. You need to change it to output 25Khz and see if you get an image then.

The dips are set for medium res, my lcd just supports a buncha odd resolutions and it only shows certain screens then goes out of range. That being said, when I hooked up a standard res game, still got no picture but the screen needed to have the v sync adjusted
