I am beat.
This will be short. More details will follow in the morning sometime.
Soslo has all of the info regarding almost all of the prices today (he is on a Looong drive home right now, btw)
Well, my truck looked like the Beverly Hillbillies of the Arcade coming home. I had 5 junk cabs crammed in the back. :) I am a sucker for a project, I guess.
1. FUBAR Tron upright. $25. It looks like it fell off a truck! It is complete though. I mainly picked it up for all of the custom plastic bits and light fixtures. The handle was snapped off and the spinner drags a bit. I will have pics soon.
2. Pole Position II. Yeah, I know...another one. However, theres more... It was in the junk aisle. (what a surprise) Someone had bypassed the +5v with a switching PS. (bonus) The pedal was loose inside the cabinet, disconnected. I decided to take a chance and plug it in when no-one was looking. Bing! It booted up!!
The cabinet looked like HELL. Dirty & greasy. The steering wheel looked as if it were run over, the shifter was hanging....it looked like HELL.
Much later in the auction, we moved to the junk row. THEY WEREN'T GOING TO PLUG THEM IN!!!! WHOO HOO! Long story short...$10
I just finished merging the two and I played a few games of Pole Position II!
THere isn't power to the light fixture or the coin door at the moment.
3. A converted Joust Cabinet with some crappy kung fu type game. $1. I haven't tried to fire it up yet. This will be my Multi-Williams cab. I am going to scrap the Stargate and use the Joust. I think it looks better.
4. Road Blaster $0.50- Ugh... Soslo and I were in the Junk aisle again and no-one was bidding on the RB. The auctioneer moved on to some Off road type game and no-one was bidding on it either. He offered both for $1. Soslo quickly said to me "Lets split it!" So now I have this frigging Roadblaster. Hopefully the monitor works. At least I get a switching PS out of the deal
I also have the Off Road in my basement. I am holding it for Soslo.
We managed to get the games in the basement. I am in so much pain right now. 1000 mg of Motrin is a calling.
Oh yeah, We snapped the neck of the Pole Position II monitor (Suck) Luckily, I had a freshly capped one in the basement ready to go.
I guess my post was long after all.... :)

Damn, I didn't know Soslo was from Chico, I would have asked you to bring me a pizza from the Italian Cottage :)

bah...gimmie a Pollo Asada Grande from Aca Taco  Heck, I'll even take just a #3 sub from Kona's ;)
-
Yech, I heard all this stuff about Kona's before my parents moved up there. Poor mans Togo's :) My parents are opening up a Cheesesteak shop there next year sometime :)
-
Kona's > Toga's any day. ;D There used to be a Toga's there, not sure if it went out of business yet.

Tom, how much did the battlezone's go for? I don't think any of them were functional.
I figured with the high prices those cocktails went for, I was sure everything else was going to be going much to higher (lots of arcade newbies looking for xmas presents).
I'm glad I left early, as at those prices for the broken ones, it would have been hard to not bid on something...but I have pride in my garage having only one machine (out of 6) which is still non-functioning. ;D
-
When they finally got to the Battlezones, I wasnt paying attention...we were actually in line to pay. It was probably in the $0.50 - $1.00 range though.
I am moving four cabs from my basement this week! I gave the Arcade PC to a friend of mine, the other Pole is heading to the crusher, I sold a gutted roadblaster for a mame project and Soslo's machine. I will have room to work on the MultiWilliams and Tron.

Dang, I wish I made it. Um, and a truck to carry cabs and room at home and .... Hmm, maybe better I didn't show. ;D
-
man i wish they had stuff like that in NJ! 1$ for a empty cabinet? i almost paid like 50$ on ebay but i found a working SF3 to use instead.
-
It wasn't empty! There is a Power supply, monitor (working) and controls.
The best part is all of the Joust parts are there. Lesson learned is:
1. Stargate Cab with monitor $75
2. New back doors $10 for wood
3. Joust Harness $58
4. Control Panel $75
5. Ballast $4.00
6. Light bulb $6.00
7. New Switching Power Supply $98
total so far $316
or
Converted Joust cab at auction $1
Granted its a gamble. The monitor can be shot (like the 4x4 Game) or the harness and accessories can be missing etc...
I really cannot count the power supply. I was going to replace it anyway. I listed it for emphasis though.
BTW, Since I cracked the neck of one of the working monitors, and the 4x4 game has a toasted monitor, I am going to swap out the tubes and have another working 19" monitor! (hopefully)
Finally, I traded for Soslo's cabinet. I knew this was going to happen! Oh well.
I love this hobby!!

7. New Switching Power Supply $98
Let me know if you want anymore power supplies for $98. I will sell the power supplies out of my working games for that price.
But yeah, it is always better to try and find games as complete as you can.

Paige,
This was a new PS kit from Bob (complete with all new wiring). I like to use brand new components for the PS when I can.

Ok, that makes sense then.
