Title: Anyway to remove flicker? ... (Solved)
Post by: Jollywest on April 23, 2014, 07:21:05 am
Hi,

I'm trying to remove unwanted flicker from my setup, which is;

PC running Sega Model 2 Emulator connected to Sanwa 29e31s VGA arcade monitor.

I've tried to tackle this in the past, using powerstrip without any joy.

My question is, if I setup powerstrip to output at a lower frequency and then fit a CGA/EGA to VGA converter between PC and monitor would this remove the flicker?

EDIT

I managed to sort this by adjusting the 3D settings (anti-aliasing, anisotropic etc...) in my GPU settings.

If I understand you correctly you drive the VGA monitor directly from the VGA card? There should be no interlace flicker then.

Not sure why I'm getting it then. It isn't there on the hyperspin frontend, it's only on the Sega Model 2 Emulator games.
I'm running the SM2 emu at 600 x 480 res, the same as the gpu card.
I've tried tinkering with the SM2 emu settings and resolutions without any luck.
