So IOm looking at buying 2 of these (they would come with 2x VGA/USB boxes as well. its the red and blue pistol looking guns)
Im finding OLD info that only one of these work on a system at a time, is this still the case or do they work with 2 players now?

I used to run two at a time on an old cab of mine. Been able to run dual since at least '06. Just have to have to plug one box into the other box IIRC - it ends up a big hairy rat's nest of wires but works pretty much out of the box.

2 work fine in software that supports them. They show up as mice. Software that uses they system mouse (the pointer) doesn't support 2 guns because in windows, all mice control the same pointer.
At this point in time:
MAME supports 2 player (enable multi-mouse)
Model 2 emulator only supports one player natively, but can do 2 players with Howard Casto's Troubleshooter 2 program (this also adds 2 player to some PC games)
Demul emulator does not support 2 player.
Most online flash games are only going to support one player.

It works... but might cause epileptic seizures... :P

Way back when I used mameanalog+ and they worked independently of each other. The seizure comment isn't that far from the mark--the screen blanks white with each shot and with 2 players popping zombies it gets pretty hectic...
I still miss my light guns tho...

The white flash is part of the nostalgia for me. :P
