My cab has been running AdvanceMenu since 2002 or so and I love it. I've got the config on groovyarcade almost perfectly matched to what I had previously, but 2 things I'm having a hard time with:
- Clones show up in the main menu, these were previously not shown and I would hit a mapped button to show a list of clones if I wanted to play one.
- It seems favorites has replaced groups, but the heirarchy/interaction of the two (types and favorites) seems to behave differently.
I had types Vertical Horizontal and <undefined>
Then groups for each type of controls Buttons, 8 way, 4 way etc.
I could then switch between either type or group independently, but either that is no longer supported, or I'm doing something wrong, and that wouldn't be the first time. :)
Any help greatly appreciated!

Hello telengard
-You can show clones, use key "a" , or from menu "F4" change option to show them.
-You could delete/add groups or types you need from advmenu.rc.
-Are you using a filter as catlist?
-Could you post your settings to check?

Hi!
Thanks for responding. I think I figured out the clones showing up issue, it was most likely due to importing an older advmenu config (generated with an older mame).
As for the types/favorites, I have them all added just like before, but I cannot cycle/filter through them as I used to. I do not use catlist currently.
I've attached my config, and you can see all of the types and favorites I have added. I used to be able to cycle to a type, say "Horizontal" and then cycle through all the different favorites (used to be groups). Doesn't seem to work that way anymore. I noticed something recently in the documentation for advmenu+ which might be related:
"Filters and types only apply to the "All Games" list."
Based on this it seems the functionality I used to use has been removed and now you can only filter by type.
I've attached my config to this post.

Hello.
Sorry I taken so long to respond, I have reviewed the documentation, favorites list does not affect types, we assumed creating favorites list, we would have no way affecting them, you can only use types in the general list.

Hi again,
No problem. I spent quite a while tinkering with this trying to get it working and nothing I tried worked. So what I ended up doing was just making more types incorporating the orientation and controls. So instead of using 2 things to express that types and favorites, I just have it all in types. It's not perfect, but it works.
thanks for your help!
