I seen what games they support. Is it best to get the cd version of the games or to get the dvd version?

Well make sure that the script in question actually supports the dvd version, but other than that.... the cds are highly compressed and low resolution. The dvds are 480p. So there you go.

On the ones where you have to go the CD route, make sure you get the version that has the windows XP logo on the front.
Versions older than that are really crappy resolution. Not quite Sega CD video crappy, but close.

Yeah I don't even think the older ones work tbh. Prior to the Xp releases these things were dos I believe and were something really crappy like mpeg1.

ok thanks for the info guys. I should have read up on this first but i did get my hands on the dvd version of who shot johnny rock. would it be best if i get the cd version of it to get it to run under singe?

I collected all the DVDs of the American Laser Games. That's the only way to do. I have them all running and ready for when I do my gun cab.
