I'm looking to "stress test" some TO-3 transistor pairs. 2N6284 and 2N6287's. these transistors are often counterfeited and sold as name brands due to their high price. I have a B&K 510 transistor checker, but often even with known blown transistors, they test as fine since a low voltage is used to test the simple switching function.
I'd like to build a test bed that i can insert a single or a pair and stress test them to...
1: determine if the transistors are good.
B: determine if they are rated for what they are supposed to be. high voltage, high amperage etc.
4: test "failed" transistors to see if they are in fact failed and not just another part of the circuit.
anybody know where i might start with this? i'm thinking a box with a power supply and some pushbuttons to apply voltage and amp meters to measure current draw and LED's to verify input, output.

Not real familiar with this stuff..........but this German one might be a good basis to build off of?

look up >peek<
look for dac77 or 75 ?
1 of them is a curve tracer
this is what u want
about $150.00 landed at your door
for any darlinton pair it is a must..hence the term :pair:
