Title: Extending player 3 and 4 controls on xbox.
Post by: Generic Eric on January 28, 2014, 11:04:29 pm
I could have put this in a number of different categories, but I chose console.  First with the caveats.  Of the top of my head, I'm not sure what 4 player games are available via coinops lite 5.  So to keep it simple I'll just ask about the console in general.

If I want to extend the player 3 and 4 controls from the inside to an external jack, what challenges am I faced with?  Can I wire the control to a usb jack (neutech? neutrix?) and plug in a wired controller for the odd game that takes more than 2 players?

I made a small mod where I took controller port4 and wired it up to a 4 way usb hub.  Mouse and Keyboard works and Port 4 functions.

I haven't played around with CoinOPS and 4 player games, but I cannot see why it shouldn't work.  Don't bother with anything other than mouse and keyboard as there isn't a decent HID driver for anything else exotic.
