If you haven't heard of it, this is a movie about the rivalry between James Hunt (Mclaren) and Nikki Lauder (Ferrari) in F1 racing in the mid 70's. Directed by Ron, howard! Much of the movie is set in 1976 when their rivalry really came to a head and a lot of the season it was either Hunt or Nikki 1st with the other second. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) plays Hunt, and Daniel Bruhl (who I don't really know but was apparently in Inglorious Basterds) plays Lauda. They are brilliantly cast looks-wise. And Hemsworth got to keep his long hair!
The whole racing scene was beautifully recreated. Lots of loverly 70's F1 cars, spectacular races and great drama. Unless you are a boring stickler for details (a know it all guy at work said it was ONLY about 95% accurate) you should enjoy this movie. So long as you like cars of course.
5/5 :applaud:

Only 95% accurate? That's a documentary in Hollywood terms ;D
Been looking forward to seeing this, but may have to wait for it to hit the cable tv before I can.
The way Vettel has dominated F1 this season, it will be nice to see some competition.

Yeah, I know right? The guy that said that still loved it, but he always has to one up everything. So for instance he banged on about how Alan Jones (an Australian, not Austrian) wasn't even mentioned even though he did well that year. But the movie wasn't about him. They also didn't mention about 15 other drivers either :dunno Another thing he said was wrong with the film I just googled and found that my know-it-all friend maybe doesn't know it all :D
Finding that out has made the movie even better. Can't wait to tell him about it tomorrow, see how he spins it...

I almost went to see it the night before last, but didn't.
Then the next morning I see your review and am filled with regret. :lol
Saw it last night and enjoyed it. First 1/3 of the movie was a bit slow. It was good, but I was prepared to be a little disappointed.
Last 2/3 made up for it. Really enjoyed it. It made me want to come home and buy the codemasters F1 game for my driving cab.
(I'm gonna wait for the next sale 'cause I'm cheap and the cab isn't done, lol)

I'm not an F1 fan, but the movie was excellent.
