Hi Guys,
I am about to start my first bartop Hyperspin cabinet build, and I have a question regarding artwork and what are the steps and processes when creating and designing it yourself. Is it a case a trawling the internet for a good quality Ryu or Wolverine and then going on from there, or is there websites where you can get these images from?
I have read the FAQ's, but I couldnt see one that specifically goes through what is involved.. I have the full Adobe Creative Suite at work, so tools are not an issue...
Sorry if this sounds really Newb, but you gotta start somewhere...... :afro:
Sofar I want to try a MvC or NBA Jab themed cab....
Thanks in advance...

Go NBA Jam. I'd love to see a fresh take on it.

Biggest thing is to have a full size exact template of your cabinet set up in Adobe Illustrator to use as a guide for designing your artwork, especially if you have a control panel with button artwork that has to be critical. Plenty of high rez images on the internet if you look. Don't pull from any web site, just google it and set the search to Large. Copy and past into photoshop or AI and look at the clarity close up to see if the image is hi enough in resolution. If you need some help let me know. I do offer printing services of the graphics if you need it. I just posted in this forum but I am well known on the Hyperspin Forums. Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys.
Lucian, I have seen your name being bounced around a bit at the Hyperspin forum before. Are you UK based??
Thanks

bleed your artwork to overlap your side layout by a good half inch everywhere. nothing worse than getting your print and you misjudged something and it's a 16th of an inch too small.
other than that, I would find:
a background I like
A font I like
images and vectors I like
then steal them all and mash them up into tasty sideart stew. bonus points if you keep it all vector but for a bartop raster should be ok too.

PS, [6] is awesome and my favorite,... Ai vectors your design nice,... And a plot/cutter for test fitting and cutting the holes...Somebody willing to actually do the print.... And a new dirty words vocabulary, cause your just going to need that.,

Thanks guys for all your input. I have not yet recieved the flatpack cabinet kit yet, so sizes are not known. I found a jpeg online of the control panel for NBA Jam, but due to it being a 4 player CP, and not knowing the locations of the button holes, I have decided to use it as inspiration. I know PS pretty well, but never really touched illustrator, so I think I will stick with PS and just make it BIG!! Sofar the background gradiant has been done!! Looks good sofar :-)
Thanks again guys.
Will post bits when I am done.

Just make it to size using 300 pixels per inch and it will print fine -- also doing this @300 PPI using the brush tool set at 338 pixels will draw the circle for the 1 1\8 inch button holes (1 inch = 300pixels + 1\8 in = 37.5 pixels rounded up to 38 ) making the button holes just a single mouse press in the right location.

hey guys,
had some fun getting back into photoshop this evening. As I said before I found a Control Panel for NBA Jam online, but as it was 4 player, I am going to borrow heavily, but simplfy my control panel. I dont think I am gonna go for icons etc, as it looks way too hard, as well as having a 6 button setup for 2 players. Anyway I have attached my first go at it, minus the logo etc (too late!!!). i have also uploaded the original control panel I found.
Thanks for all you help..
