I promised myself I would do as MUCH research on this issue as I possibly could before I came here with my newbie questions as to not waste anyones time.
I purchased a cabinet and monitor with no expectation that the monitor would work and thought while it would be complicated it would be a good starting point for me to learn about this type of repair.
So I have no history on this monitor other than to say everything looks in reasonable shape.
However, it's blowing fuses...
So in my reading I have seen people recommending replacing diodes 19-22 and others mentioning the HOT (which I've found, thankfully).
So where does one acquire a new HOT? I'm hoping to find something local if possible, would any electronic supply store carry this type of thing?
I'm assuming the diodes would be found locally.
I'm thinking of doing both changes and then check to see if the fuses still blow.
Does my logic here make sense? or am I way off and should be starting elsewhere?

A K7000 must be powered from an isolation transformer and not plugged directly to ac power. Damage to the monitor will occur.

Yeah I should have mentioned that I purchased an isolation transformer (and tested it) and have put it in line.
So that's not my issue. However, I have no way of knowing if the previous owner didn't try starting it up with no isolation transformer so....

Critical safety capacitor C36 may be shorted.

So you would recommend starting there instead of the HOT/diode replacement?
I'll take a look tonight and see what I have in that location (not familiar with that cap) and maybe back with some more questions!

Ok, so I found C36 and it's actually 2 caps bridging the 4 pins. They are bridged as you would expect the long way across.
So now what?

Ok so I went ahead with my original plan to replace the HOT and 4 diodes (19-22). The monitor now has power and the fuse doesn't blow.
There are new issues that I'll start a new thread about but at least this one can be closed.
