Title: Aimtrak light gun- switch recoil solenoid on and off
Post by: TopJimmyCooks on September 26, 2013, 03:24:35 pm
Any reason you can't put a switch on one of the lines going to the recoil solenoid, to be able to switch recoil off at the gun?

I'm going to test it anyway, just wondering if someone knew something about it.

You could do this but also its possible to vary the recoil power using the config utility and can be reduced to zero.

Hey thanks, Andy.  I appreciate that.  This rig is being built for an end user who's not mame savvy and I'm trying to keep them from ever needing to leave the hyperspin playpen, if you know what I mean.

I've got the recoil running on 36 v and all the way up because they wanted the max/ closest to arcade levels of recoil.  I know from my kids using the guns that they like it much better with the recoil off.  Since the client has small kids I'm trying to give them the best of both without having to adjust settings.  I feel better knowing its ok to do without messing up the boards.  I got submini slider switches from radio shack that can go up near the secondary button.  I'll post some pics when I get it done this weekend.
