Title: used to have adapter that goes av/ s-video to jamma. what's it called?
Post by: marioxb on September 18, 2013, 09:07:25 am
About 10 years ago I had this Jamma adapter thingie that was sorta like the J-pac I suppose. Like the j-pac only for the fact that it let you connect a non-arcade source to a jamma cab. That's where the similarites end. I don't have the thing anymore and I actually never got around to using it. What it did was simply let you connect ANYTHING (and I think this was in the 16 bit days maybe?, so anything meant SNES, Genesis, etc or even a DVD player or VCR) to your arcade monitor. Just the monitor (speakers?). No controls, joysticks, buttons, conin slots.

Anyone remember/ have this thing? How well did it work? Are there similar products like J-Pac, but with S-video (or maybe even component or HDMI) hookups rather than VGA? Searching google brought up nothing, since I don't know what to search for. Most results are the opposite: how to hook up a jamma board to a TV, aka supergun, which is NOT what I am looking for.

Google Kworld.  That outputs 15khz for Arcade Monitors, and VGA displays.

Newer ones  support HDMI and component.

You can get them on Amazon and Frys.

Thanks, but I'm not sure that's it. The thing I had looked something like this:

Ahh!
Bob Roberts comes to mind, and a dreamcast to jamma site has one of those.
