I need to replace the control panel in my mame machine, and I'm trying to find 5/8" MDF or good plywood at big box retailers (went to Lowes in Plainville, CT and Depot on Queen st). Nobody seems to have project panels or even full 4x8 sheets of 5/8 inch MDF or any good hardwood ply.
When I built this machine I never had any issues finding 5/8, but now it's proving difficult. Anyone know of a source in the area that has it?

Did you ask if they had some? I found that the 5/8" project panels weren't advertised on the shelf-thingies. I got up on one of those rolling stairs at HD and found it up next to the 1/2"...no pricing, nothing.

Yeah, they said they didn't have any. I'll try some other stores in the area I guess.

Are you using a plexi overlay ? Figure 1/2 inch MDF + 1/8 inch plexi = 5/8 inch thickness.
