Title: Donkey Kong MAME Monitor Questions
Post by: koolmoecraig on May 06, 2013, 07:34:39 pm
I'm thinking about MAME'ing my Donkey Kong machine.  No modification to the control panel so it will only play 4-way and 2-way games with 1 button.

My question is regarding the Sanyo EZ20 monitor that's original to the Donkey Kong.  I'm going to be running it through an ArcadeVGA card.  Is there any special considerations that need to be addressed with this monitor? My previous experience is with a brand new Vision Pro CRT which was pretty plug n' play with the ArcadeVGA.

Thanks!

The colors for the monitor are inverted coming out of a Donkey Kong board and the Sanyo EZ20 expects it to be that way. There was an inverter board made by Nintendo as some point, don't know how hard they are to track down.

You'd be better off converting that monitor to accept standard video right on the main chassis. Bob Roberts has instructions on his site on how to do this conversion.
