Go for it buddy, you can do it, hit me up if you need any help
Hey Griff, when (and why) did you change your name? So are you the artist formerly know as Griffindodd?
I sent a couple of messages to Game on Grafix, and still have received no response. I contacted another place and got back to me with a full quote of about $140 (pre-laminated).
OK, I hope this isn't a dumb question, but I received my 60 n 1 board, wiring harness, and Arcade Switching Power Supply, but how do you actually power it up? I thought it was going to be super easy, just connect the harness to the 60 n 1 board, plug the monitor into the board and plug it into the power supply, and power it up (of course connect the buttons and stuff too).
Here you go, you can see where the harness runs to the switched power supply...
OK, the power part makes sense to me now, but how about connecting the wiring harness to the 60n1 card, do I have them lined up right?

Looks like the harness I got from Paradise....
Just a heads up- I've had three wires break on that same type of harness- 5v, 12v, and ground. I had to resolder them to the pins.
You attatch leads from your mains to AC1 and AC2.
Couple more questions for Maximus:
1. On the wiring harness, do you just disconnect the wires you are not going to use (to clear up clutter)?
2. How did you wire up the fans?
On a side note, I hooked up the controllers and played a quick game of Ms. Pacman and tried out a couple others, works great, even has sound :)
Sorry I missed this. I clipped away all the unused wires. I just tapped my fans to the 12v line on the switched power supply, same with my LEDs
until I either get a 30 / 60 Chamfer bit or borrow a friends table saw

Unless it's a super accurate tablesaw I wouldn't bother, you'd be better off with a circular saw and clamped guide. Although adding a 60/30 Chamfer to your collection of router bits is always a good investment.
These days I never use my table saw, I'd rather clamp up a guide and use either a router, circular or more often than not a jigsaw, I can cut within 1mm tolerance with a jigsaw over a pretty decent distance so my need for a table saw is usually reduced to quick rips of long stems

ouch
lol,... he looked like he had drilled a million holes, could barely hold his beer...
It was the damn Patron Tequila ;)
BTW Sshado, you accidently linked the thumbnail from the image thread.

Very cool, original design.
Is it heavy enough to stay in place during hard/fast action on the joysticks? If not, maybe some little suction cups on the bottom or added weight?
Quick update, here it is so far. Tonight I will trim the monitor support down so that it is where it belongs. Maybe work on the speaker and fan placement too.

Looks great so far, do you have it set for left handed use the CP looks all reversed
Also, was it CLEAR acrylic or a slight grey or smoked?
OK, I bought some Acrylic and attempted to cut it down to size. Of course it didn't break perfectly, so I tried cutting the chips off and now I have a jagged edge. What is a good way to smooth the edge? Like with what tool? I tried a dremel with a bunch of different tips with no luck...
I updated the original post with a parts list. This little thing cost me $715.00 :dizzy:
I think the last digit of the serial number should a 2, considering this is the second unit of this particular model that has been built.

But it's the first one that Sshado built, hence the "WEI" part of the S/N as opposed to the "JGD" on the original.

I cut my plastics with a router, just set up a straight edge clamped down tight and run the router across it for a perfect smooth cut. If you want the edges of the acrylic to be glassy you can flame-polish them with a butane torch, look that up on YouTube for some videos showing you how.

Wow, the router sure cleaned it up nicely. Just like you, I am realizing the router is a VERY useful tool :afro:
OK, another question for you. How did you attach the bottom? It must be fastened somehow if you are using handles to carry it from the bottom. I was thinking of putting a couple cross bars across and bolting the bottom to it through the feet...
To finish it off, I have sent Corybee a message about the serial plate.
1 - instead of where it says Griffin Dodd & Co., Ltd.
change it to:
Designed by Griffin Dodd
Built by Weizguy
2 - SERIAL NO. WEI-00001
How is this?

Couple more questions to complete this build:
How did you wire the speakers to the amplifier? I had the speakers connected to the 60n1 card, but now I want to add the amplifier.
Also, how or where do you wire the service / test buttons?
The amp I bought from amazon just had wire terminals so I attached them easily like that... I think, hard to remember now. The service buttons are part of that Jamma Harness, one called test and one called setup.
Looking good man!
That's awsome now the question is have you had a baby sit on the screen to test build quality?
I like it, quite unique.
I could test it with my 25 lb cat ;)
>:DI like it, quite unique.
Did you receive the serial plates?
I could test it with my 25 lb cat ;)
Videos of that please, the Internetz needs more videos of fat cats playing arcade games.

My thought exactly.
Now build the revolution cab! >:D
