Title: ThunderBlade suicide Battery - Fixed
Post by: bluemini17 on November 28, 2012, 04:58:31 pm
(I think this falls under restoration - of game boards?)

Well folks, my ThunderBlade board gave up on me the other day so I started to dig around the net and found out that ThunderBlade runs on a Sega X Board, of which is battery powered. Once the battery dies the game goes with it!

To my joy, ThunderBlade was also released to other continents but without the battery protection. I thought this was strange to have the battery protection in one continental region but not the other. But none the less this left me in good stead as I was able to obtain the relevant eproms (8 in total) that would make my board work again. See the images below of the leaking battery acid.

A fellow in the UK offers this service for those that do not have the ability to programme the eproms.

I hope this topic is usefull for those who have similar system X (Sega) boards. I found my information here: http://www.segaresurrection.com/ (http://www.segaresurrection.com/)

All the best, David
