Apparently AE card holders who link the card to their gamertag get $25 for beating the campaign plus other benefits. More details (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/120476-Beat-Halo-4-Earn-25) for those curious. This coupled with neweggs $15 coupon code brings the game down to around $10 for the standard version if you factor in both credits from linking your card.

This is cool, to bad I don't have an Amex. Oh well. I've got my copy of Halo 4 pre-ordered and paid off. Can't wait!

Decent chunk of change for sure... but not sure if it is a good idea to link accounts like that. (I am a late adopter... I still need to play Reach).

AmEx has always had a ton of silly deals/coupons/rebates/handjobs/whatever going for their customers. Maybe that's why old people always seem to carry the card - if clipping coupons is an efficient expenditure of your time then I guess jumping through hoops for AmEx would be equally stimulating. It almost makes you forget the fact that you're paying $$$/year for a service that you could get for free (or near enough) elsewhere.
Otherwise, this is a pretty cool promotion. It won't influence my decision to buy the game or get an AmEx card, but it sounds like a pretty solid way for AmEx to reach out to an audience that can still chew their own food.
