I got some coin doors and other misc parts from someone on this board about a year and half, maybe 2 years ago, and in the box was a small black plastic box that looks like a counter of some kind. There's no reset button, or anything like that but there's a sticker on the side that says Missle Command. Anyone know what this is? Perhaps a high score keeper?
I've never had a missle command cab or done work on one so I have no idea.
Just curious.

Sounds like the coin counter...
They are usually incremented each time the coin switch is triggered...
So the coin-ops can keep track of how much the game is getting played.

It's the coin counting meter. Some cities, counties, or states require these on coin operated amusement games by law. The numbers indicate each trip of the coin switch. Game manufacturers put them in anyway so they are there if the locality requires them. It was also a way to keep employees honest.
The common operating voltage for these meters is either 6 volts DC or 12 volts DC and it's usually stamped on the meter.
