Title: Monitor PC connection Help
Post by: Pakled on October 22, 2012, 06:25:09 pm
Hello All,
I have an old NFL Blitz 99 4 player cabinet with the original monitor. I'm trying to figure out what to do in order to connect my PC to it. I have a VGA breakout cable that I bought from Ultimarc but the connections obviously don't fit. I've included a pic of the card that attaches to the neck of the monitor and a closeup of it's VGA connection. There is also another card in the cabinet which is mounted just under the monitor bracket that currently connects to the "neck" card. It connected where I am trying to connect the VGA PC cable. I'm wondering if I need to include the extra card at all or if I can bypass it and go straight to the "neck" card? Also since the VGA cable and "neck" card have different connection types should I buy a new connector at say Radio Shack and put it on the VGA PC cable? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

PS... I found a manual in the cabinet that is for a Wells-Gardner U5000 Model # 25K5108. The "neck" card is labeled P719 and the other card is P738.

Wrong connectors.   The input signal to the monitor is connected to CN200.    CN201 and CN501 are connected via a ribbon cable and are internal signals from to the neck board from the main PC board.  The connections to CN200 are in the maint manual. No input signals should be connected directly to the neck board.

Thanks for the info BobA. I do have another question though...What is CN200, CN201, and CN501??? Sorry but I am at a complete loss. I really need this in layman/dummy talk.

OK I'm pretty sure I got connected to CN200 correctly and it looks like the cable from Ultimarc did the trick. My next question is what settings should my PC be set to as far as resolution, refresh rate, hertz, etc....?

You need a card for video from Ultimarc or you need to run software that will allow you PCs video card to ouput a CGA signal to the arcade monitor.
