Are you using a hardwired remote volume control or the control on the back of the jukebox?

In general, volume wide open indicates a short to ground of the red volume wire.

Hello Mountaindew,

Unplug the volume control cable at the molex plug on the amplifier. there should be no volume during play.
As Ken says check fo a short on the cable back to the 10k ohm log pot and if there is no short on the cable meter out the pot  on a two wire control the wires will go to one end of the pot and the otherwire will be to the wiper.

You can make up a test contol using another 10k log pot and a molex plug, short pins 1 & 5 together and take a cable to one end of the pot, pin 3 wire up to the wiper.

Regards
