Title: Harley Trouble
Post by: JRChristenson on August 27, 2012, 09:50:38 am
This machine belongs to the owner of the company I work for but for the time being it lives in my office. As far as I can tell everything works pretty much perfectly except for the motorcycle. According to the rules card it is supposed to stay down until you light up all of the letters to spell HARLEY and then raise up to start locking balls for multi-ball. As it is it is up almost all of the time and will award a multiball even when it only has one ball locked.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Have the machine give you a test report- and see what it's saying is wrong.

If that doesn't work, lift the playfield and look at the mechanism that runs the bike. I don't know what run the bike- but it could be a broken wire, bad motor, burned out coil--- or even a back box fuse.

If you've never done this before- start with the easy stuff. run the report and look it up in the manual which you can DL parts of here if you don't have it in the machine:

Just a thought but have you checked any sort of dip switch settings that may be related to difficulty?

There's a decent chance that's an adjustment but it would be in software.  No dips like that on that game.
