I posted some of this up in another TMNT project thread, but I thought I would make my own now that I am getting close to finishing up, more for a record for myself, cause most of you won't read it. :lol
I always loved the TMNT game and it was the first arcade game I ever completed all the way through. My uncle gave me and my cousin tons of quarters to do it too LOL, when we were both real young at a pizza hut. So I knew if I was going to build a cabinet, it had to be TMNT.
I started researching how to build one and ran across you guys and some of you may remember, you helped direct me to Sanwa JLFs and GGG EI2s. I had to have RGB, I am a DIY christmas lights to music nut, so I had to add blinky/flashy as we call it to my cab.

Next I got a lot of stuff from ultimarc, TOYS lol

Then setup a cardboard box and started testing on an old comp I was going to be using to make the cab to make sure I could pull it off.

Then I started diving into if I should build or buy a mameroom cab, but then I came across a local refurb place, so I kinda cheated because I suck at woodworking. I found an old NFL Blitz 2000 cabinet and got it refurbished. And got some art from gameongrafix.

Hooked back up my trusty cardboard box test panel and made sure the monitor works, this sort of killed my productivity for awhile cause I could play it.

Finally going after the control panel after much delay, LOL. It's massive, but I wanted to make sure the players had room and to put everything I wanted on it.

Testing the top on it.

Now on to my favorite part and where I am up to now, wiring, YEY!

That's where I am up to, hopefully going to be testing the controls this weekend and then move on to wiring up the RGBs.

Very nice. I am also building out a NFL Blitz 2000. What are you using for a monitor?
Mike.

Pentranic 288-S26A
It's not the best monitor, but it came with the cab. I am going to use it til it dies and probably upgrade.

Your TMNT cab is coming along nicely!!!, love your control panel. Fantastic stuff!

I also finished the TMNT at my local arcade, someone had put in a cheat to get unlimited lives, still took a good 45mins to finish !

I always played as Donatello when I was kid. I was a geeky kid, what can I say... :lol
Yeah, my uncle was a nut, no way I would do that for my nephews right now. LOL. The double shredder took me and my cousin awhile to kill em.

Went after it tonight, wanted to play this sucker
Finished up the control wiring, probably will start working on cleaning up the cab wiring before I start in on the lighting wiring.

Brings a nostalgic tear to my eye man. My buddies and I would spend all day at the pizza place playing that game back in the day. We all had summer jobs so we'd each get a large pizza and pitcher of coke then blow every penny we had left at the arcade. Mostly on that game.
Donatello was everyone's favorite due to his extra reach.

Finally got LEDBlinky going and all my RGBs wired up. Looks freakin incredible, glad I went RGB now. Picture definitely doesn't do these things justice. Much thanks to GGG and Paradise working with me to get the parts I needed to do the lighting.
Only issue I had with it was the Ultimarc trackball LEDs are way too dim and the green is a weird shade of bright green. I ended up buying extra LEDs from paradise and used a coke cap and reflectors to somewhat make it better and at least match the colors of the other RGBs, but I need to look into alternatives to lighting it brighter.

Trip, did you have to order the Paradise hollow JLF shafts (with 10mm top) to replace the one that came with the GGG electric ice ball top kit?

I bought JLF long shafts and actual JLF joysticks from paradise arcade as my sticks are bottom mounted. I got some better springs to not make it feel so bad for the length. I special ordered my GGG ball tops through Randy to make sure they would fit. I am not sure if he has them for sale on his website, I dealt with him directly, because I wanted to get the dust washers to larger as well.

you dont have the side art or a marquee scan do ya?
-
No, I bought it from gameongrafix in a custom size. I had them get rid of the black bar that comes on the bottom of the original art. They did all my artwork, even getting rid of the "jump" and "attack" icons on the control panel and such. Resizing everything to the size I needed. They did awesome work.
Just a disclaimer for others, I have since moved my p3 and p4 joysticks to not angled positions. I finally agree that angling is dumb.
