Guys-
I've seen some beautiful restorations here, some of which involve removing black paint to reveal the original side art underneath. How are you guys doing that without damaging the the original paint? Assuming the top layer is probably regular black latex-based and the layer underneath is the original paint, what do you use?

I've removed paint from vinyl before, but not paint from paint. You might have luck with 3m Safest stripper since it is much milder than most strippers, but you probably would need to be pull the stripper off earlier than directed and be quick about washing the area you put the stripper on once you scraped it so it doesn't eat the paint underneath.
Just don't take my word as gold. I haven't tried it before. :-\
