Title: Gameongrafix postal/custom charges
Post by: fryster on June 06, 2012, 02:54:45 pm
Hi all,

I ordered a marquee and bezel from Gameongrafix for delivery to the U.K. I've just had an update on my order stating payment of charges, addressee being informed (it's in the uk, cleared customs). Does this mean I'm going to be stung for a customs charge, postal charge, or both? I'm sure I read that it shouldn't attract a customs charge as its classed as printed papers or something like that. Many thanks for any advise.

Just for people's reference, I was charged an £8 handling fee(parcel force delivery) and £7.64 import fee.

Any fees for shipping are usually charged when you make your payment. The shipper would actually pay for all those fees not you. You would usually only pay what ever shipping fees you were charged when you ordered the item. Any additional fees would get charged to the original shipper(gameongraphix). But, there shouldn't be any additional fees. Everything that gets shipped internationally will have to go through customs but any shipping company would know this and just charge you extra up front.

that not completely right - down here in New Zealand you can be charged GST (goods and services tax) just depends if it flights under the radar. If it's valued at more than NZ$400 then the customer will be charged no exceptions. Then when charged you are also stung with an admin fee, handling fee, 15% tax on total value of goods. NICE  :hissy:
