Title: Cocktail control panel
Post by: Bobwiley on May 16, 2012, 04:33:57 pm
I have plans for a cabinet, but I want to make sure I can layout the CP correctly. I will use; two player start buttons, two multiple-purpose buttons (I think), a joystick and a trackball. Not sure of the component sizes and how it will all fit . .. 9", 12", custom, etc. Any help, layouts or advice is appreciated.

Forget a 9", even a 12" will be tight!

What size of trackball?  They take up alot of space under the CP.

I think 2-1/4 is the smallest I can get. I guess I was hoping someone here had success already . . .?

That many buttons will be tight on a 12" CP, let alone the trackball. You will likely have to put the start, coin, etc buttons on a vertical surface of the cabinet itself (ie. behind the CP). I wouldn't recommend going wider than 12" as it's not comfortable to sit at.

Thanks for the input. I think I will buy the components and lay them out and see how they fit/comfortable setup. I wanted it to look like an original cocktail arcade, but I will have to adjust a bit.
