Is there anyone here who has acquired artwork from both EMDKay and Basement Arcade and can address any subtle differences between their artwork?
*** And specifically any differences between their back-lit artwork(marquees) compared to the original screen-printed marquees on classic games?
Thanks.

Ok.
I can only assume that no single individual here has ever had art from both places.
And no one here who has original marquees has ever bought marquees from the two sellers mentioned.

Not as a collective. I have read individual accounts. I don't really remember any off hand.
I remember reading about the official Pac-Man family reproductions are very poor.
Then one about a GORF, and a couple of others but I don't know where they are.

I have bought marquees from EMDKay, Basement, and Gameon. I have no complaints about any of them. But I'm not as picky as some people.

After what I've read here I take if for granted that they produce quality marquees. The goal is to find out how different their marquees are from original marquees like Pole Position, Ms. Pac-man and Donkey Kong.

Are you meaning how they differ from each other, or how different the backlit print marquees are to the screen printed ones? While I like my backlit prints, nothing beats the screen printed marquees to me.

I was wondering how different they are from the original screen printed marquees.
I assumed that only a collector will look at one from EMDkay or Basement Arcade and notice that it may not be exactly like the original marquees they remember on the games they played back in the 80s.
I mentioned Ms. Pac-man, Donkey Kong, and Pole Position, but Star Wars and Millipede, (which use a different kind of marquee), are also question marks.
Thanks.

Ok, since no one is selling screen printed versions I guess I'm just going to have to chance it.

And it looks like Basement is out of the picture. He removed all the imformation in his BST post

He also closed up shop on his webpage, leaving only a hotlink for an email and a "Coming Soon"
Shame, his quality was good and his prices were great.

???
Perhaps that is why I haven't yet received an e-mail back.
Can anyone confirm or know what is going on? (Or is the only option I have left EMDkay?).
Thanks.

Don't know about repro artwork but as far as printing Gameon Grafx is good and responsive. As in - I provided the art, the print came back as expected and true to what I provided. Can't speak for them having accurate repro marquee art on file although I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

I have recreated some vector DK artwork that I found on the internet b/c the quality was poor, and even made one from scratch. As a graphic Designer I am SUPER PICKY!
Right now Im working on getting all of my recreated artwork printed out on vinyl and then place over a piece of plexiglass. I will let everyone know later how much it costs, and how good it looks.

Actually, "Game On Grafix" was not on my short list because they weren't responsive to the e-mails I sent.
(The Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-man marquees I need will be put on machines I'm selling anyway).

True - they rely on automated responses too much. I never talked directly to a human but the order placed entirely online was a success. If they can show you files for the marquees that you like they are worth a try.

There are no files for Donkey Kong or Ms. Pac-man marquees on their site. So since they aren't big on responding to e-mails there is nothing I can do. ::)
But thanks.

I too find it strange that these guys don't respond. I respond to everyone who calls my business regardless of whether I think they're qualified to buy from me or not. It's just common decency. Gameon relies on their automated replies too much.
