I have an old gutted Vanguard cabinet that I picked up for $50. I am going to set it up as a MAME cab, but I am not sure what monitor to put in it, VGA or CGA. Happs has a 19" CGA on sale for $165, but the Resolution specs says 624 x 200?? Will the classic games look right at that resolution?
By getting a cheap monitor plus the ArcadeVGA card I will save quite a bit of money.
Is this the way to go?
Thanks in advance,
Brad

I just finished my cocktail cab using the same monitor (19" Vision Pro CGA with an ArcadeVGA) and it looks great. I'm able to run all the classic games as well as NBA Jam and Mortal Kombats flawlessly (NBA Jam is a guilty pleasure for my cocktail cab). Windows doesn't looks too wonderful interlaced, but I honestly don't need (want) it much.
Configuring everything took some time and LOTS of reading. There's a wealth of information on this board (everyone here knows what they're talking about). Your best bet though is to read the Newbie FAQ and search old posts before you ask questions.
