Title: Grid Wars Resolution issues
Post by: wonderalex on February 12, 2012, 08:31:48 am
Hey folks!

I'm have a strange issue with Grid Wars 2 (oldie, but a goody) that I've never encountered before.

The game works fine outside of my front end (Atomic FE - same thing happens in MALA, but I'll be using AFE on this cab) but when I run it from the FE the graphics are all messed up, regardless of the resolutions picked.  The game is playable - but not very pretty at all.

I've installed GW2 with AFE at least twice before without issue and I'm installing this one the same way so I'm not sure what I missed.

Any ideas?

Be seeing you,

WonderAlex

Have you tried the cab friendly version, which I patched a "decades" ago?

Did you try to use the same resoloution as your FE?

Elsewise its might beeen a graphics driver thing. The only I can due is trying to select to OPENGL instead of DirectX and see what it happens.

Hey Space Fractal,

Yes - I am using your update - or at least I think so (I have both) .  I've downloaded it again and will try it in the next couple of days (work is keeping me busy).

As for the resolution matching - I tried that too and at first I thought that did it - but the moment I returned to the game it came back.

I'm going to start fresh with a fresh download of your update.  I post the results.

It's not a big deal if I don't get working - there are many twin-stick shooters out there.
