I'm not saying that it doesn't look like a media rack component (it does) but does that equate to awesome? Especially 165 bucks worth of awesome?
Component boxes have looked like that since the 80's.... it would probably be far cheaper to find an old broken one on ebay and gut it. Sine the shape of these boxes haven't changed, it would look identical for 1/10th of the price. Also since they are meant to be modular, there wouldn't be much to the gutting.... basically you'd have to remove the pcb and the box would be empty and ready to go.

You're asking for a lot of headache trying to repurpose an old receiver. That case at newegg is going to have properly spaced holes for motherboard standoffs and a cutout in the back for the I/O. It'll have a mount for a standard power supply and mounts for optical and hard drives. Case fans are presumably included, with appropriate cutouts in the sheet metal. The front panel (including the volume knob) will be all pre-wired for directly interfacing with a PC motherboard. And I wouldn't be surprised to find that it has a built-in IR module (I didn't check).
Not that a DIY project wouldn't have its own rewards, but for mose people I think they'd end up with a nicer end-product and have a lot less grief by picking up a commercial product like the one linked in the OP. Speaking of the OP, was he even serious? His post has the tongue sticking out guy at the end of it.

I went with the Fusion Max.

The regular fusion is really tight on space and I doubt I would have been able to get my video card(or any highend) in there. They seem to be kinda hard to find lately. I don't think they make them anymore.
Prepare to be dissapointed with the LCD screen. Its a neat novelty but the contrast is really weak. I didn't seem to have any software problems with it. You can put a layer of polarizing film over the LCD to help with the contrast. There are lots of sites about it.

You can also buy a package deal with x360 controller and Harmony remote. I know there are a lot of small computer cases, I just think this is the best one I have seen.
