Title: 2005 Golden tee
Post by: mikennickiex2 on January 05, 2012, 08:38:36 pm
Hi, we bought our son a used 2005 Golden Tee at auction for his game room. all of a sudden the monitor seems to have lost all color except what appears to be blue and black. the picture and sound are there, but the picture is a strange color. what I see seems to be blue and black and no other colors. has anyone seen anything like this before? could it be something simple like a bad connection? something dirty? or is this something expensive? thank you all for any help. and if I have posted in the wrong place please let me know.

Maybe a loose connection... check the big long black connector on the edge of the board. If you feel adventurous, remove the board and use a pencil eraser on both sides of the board connector. The little fingers of metal get dirty and sometimes can cause problems.

Check solderpoints. I had a similar problem, and a transistor was to blame. The solder point had broken off from the PCB. A bit of tweaking and resoldering did the trick :)

(he would be talking about the board attached to the end of the picture tube)  :P

Thank you VERY much. I will try that all out when I get over to his house soon. I will let you know if that works. ( fingers crossed )
