(more seriously) She's having a good time playing.....Dig Dug....right now. She was, like, really into video games in the 80s, and I found her.

i watched my girlfriend complete super mario 1 (on the all stars cart) today, was a pleasure.
-
The wifey really enjoyed ilomilo and the new rayman
-
The Mrs is eyeing up my Skyrim disc at the moment, whilst the PS3 is in for repair...
The only classic game she liked was centepede (why do so many girls like centepede?) but my project wont have a trackball unfortunately.

Possibly because it was written by a girl.
So let me get this straight, your wife likes Centipede, but she won't be able to play it on your cab ? :dizzy:
Perhaps not that big a tactical mistake -- I guess you'll just have to build another so that she can play Centipede.

Is that an Impress she's playing on?

Looks like it. I have an Impress, but mine is set horiz, not vert.

Nice! Wait, you had a candy cab and you just joined AO recently?? That's the cool candy cab owners hangout of choice!
I like the Impress cabs. The speaker grills are more appealing than the New Astros, but the CPO's are fugly.
What's the cabinet next your Impress, Gray? Looks like there's a Star Wars yoke, but it's hard to tell in that light. A mame woodie cab?
Sadly, the only game I've been able to get the wife to play is Puzzle Bobble (though she was born in the 80's, so I can't fault her). She gets too panicked with Pacman, and she lacks the dodging coordination of shooters. So puzzlers it is I guess.

Yes, it's an Impress. I have a main machine which can handle both duties, so I decided to make that a vert cab.
Centipede is basically a glorifed Galaxian. The theme of it, though, completely obscures that fact.
My friend, though, in looking through my game lists, was calling off games like 1943 (as well as somewhat obscure games like Kangaroo) and she was playing 1942 at one point.
What was really neat was both of us playing Mspac at the same time, and hearing this out of sync siren and dot munching, and ghosts getting munched in two places of the room. Made me giggle.
@opt2not: the....cabinet.....next to it is this one (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=115416.msg1223731#msg1223731), remember?
-
Ah yes. Should've remembered the Plumcade, how could I forget! ;)

I didn't know it existed until recently. :P

Don't have any pictures of the wife playing my cabinets (mainly 'cause there's no girl friendly games installed on them at the moment), but I did get to snap a picture of her after she finished playing some Dr.Mario at Ground Kontrol in Portland.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but while I'm posting a picture of her at GK, might as well post a few of the place itself.
Ground Kontrol is my dream...a bar and retro arcade in one. I would love to open a place like this.
Downstairs holds the bar and lots of video game cabinets, while upstairs a few vids but mostly pinball. The place is absolutely amazing.
Check out that 6-player X-men with widescreen LCD rather than the dual CRT setup.

Check out the men's room decor!

I wish I took more pictures of the place, but I was way too distracted with playing and drinking. ;)

Cute wife!
My son lives in Portland and loves Ground Kontrol. Next time I go visit him, he's taking me.

Haha, thanks yotsuya, she is a little hottie. And so cool too, especially with my hobbies/vices ;) :D
I lucked out. Here's to ugly guys with hot wives!
When you check out Ground Kontrol, dedicate a few hours at least for it. We went in the evening and it was packed! Really happening bar I was happy to see. Had so much fun there, we went back the next day for more!

I am lucky, as my wife likes to play lots of the classics , but she prefers SMB on the Snes.

I'm married 16 years. She is way better than me at most classics. Go figure.

Hey, no worries, Opt2not. Just adding to the party.
@topjimmycooks: I find it much harder watching those who suck. And I like watching. .....wait a minute.....
