Hi,
Can anyone suggest a simple way to illuminate 2 LED push buttons from a PC motherboard, without using an external board like an LED WIZ?
E.g. is there a simple hack using a molex cable?
Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

If you want them on all the time when the computer is on, just tap into a 5V (red) wire from an unused connector on you computer's power supply. Don't forget your ground (black wire from the PSU).

Yes on all the time is all I need.
I'll have a play with the red and black cables from a molex connector, sounds simple enough! Thanks for your help.

just remember red is 5v yellow is 12v, if you hook it up to the 12v it'll be REALLY BRIGHT for about a second. Either black however will work.

Interesting, my 8" LCD is 12V. Think I can use the same trick to eliminate using the DC plug I use at the moment?

Nice, You're running that off a hacked hard drive power cable?

That worked a treat thanks, and in the process it has solved a problem I had with a wavering picture so there was a problem with my original DC adapter.
Just 1 plug for it all is far neater. Thanks for your time.
