I keep getting a tech error message when I turn on my Simpson's machine for a "possible bad" ramp switch by Comic Book Guy (switch 47). :afro:
But the switch appears to be working fine when I do a switch test.
Is there a way to clear the tech error message?
I didn't see that in the manual.
Any help is appreciated!

Try playing a complete game by hand and activating the switch a few times along the way.

Did you test it by hand or by rolling a ball? You could have a flaky switch or just a switch that needs a slight adjustment. Like smartbomb said, the message should go away after playing a game and the switch registers during gameplay.

excellent idea! I'll give it a shot. :applaud:

I'm not real familiar with this particular title but many games will label a switch as being bad if it has not been activated during gameplay for X amount of games depending on the game's software.

Check page 24 of this game's manual under the heading "Switch Detection".
Just rub the GENIE's third leg for a ball search... if she has one.

Well here's the solution as per Stern "update your EPROM".
I am running 2.0 and the current software is 5.0.
Apparently a "possible bad switch" is a 2.0 programming error that can be cleared by the updated software.
5.0 EPROMS are on their way.
Thanks for the suggestions.

We should somehow make a follow up post mandatory around here for all tech questions.
If you had the stones to ask you should have the stones to tell us the outcome.
Forum members are kind enough to help you out but you aren't kind enough to return the favor.
That is just plain selfish and rude.
By the way... Are we flashing yet?
