This older man behind the keyboard will never get used to wide screen displays in a cabinet - but I genuinely like how this turned out. Just enough "cabinet" to frame everything and striking artwork, without being overly complicated. Great work! :applaud:
-
screen is actually 16/10 and I resized it from emulator menu to 4/3 ratio with scanlines. my room is small for a huge cabinet with crt monitor lol.. :embarassed:
-
:applaud: Very cool. How about more pictures of the CP art ;D.
What kind of joysticks are those?
-
No fair, where are the construction pics? I like this cab style, doesnt take up too much space.

I didnt feel like documenting or whatever lol. did that with the UA2 cabinet I built few years back.
using a jtag xbox360 for offline play and ps3 for online. panel is wired with hacked ps1 pads and using converters for ps3 and xbox360.
to do:
get a piece of black plexi glass or metal for the area between marquee and monitor glaass. now its just self adhesive magnetic stripe thingy. and maybe sidearts.

I like this, not overly complicated and looks good.

Looking nice, where are the speakers? Its painted right?
What size screen is that?

speakers are right below the control panel covered with mesh grill. its not painted, I used partsexpress speaker building vinyl. got the idea from "oscar's batman cabinet"(anyone remember him lol). monitor is hann-g 28" 16x10 from newegg.com. 0 complain about the monitor. everything looks amazing with no ghosting of any kind.

To confirm what has been written here: it's a 28" 16:10 ratio display with the sidebars bezeled out to yield 4:3?
My hat is off to you, that looks amazing. the bezel to screen/cab ratio is great. Extending the bezel past the lcd screen/case on the top and bottom to match on all four sides is great design.
-
there is no bezel. its just tinted plexi glass. but you cant really see through the glass. only the screen pops.

What emulator are you running? I would like to do that on my monitor. Looks good!
-
fbanext for jtagged xbox 360. I love the emu. it runs everything 100% and perfect scanlines(well..close to the real thing I guess)

Is it possible to do that on Mame? I'm not a fan of the black bars on both sides on my LCD.
-
pretty sure newest version of mame32 has arcade style scanlines option. and you probably wanna play your games on original screen ratio. most old school games are weird on widescreen. unless you have a 4/3 screen then its perfect.

Nice work - Where did you get the dark plexi for the bezel? I made a bezel but I'm considering switching to plexi so I can add some aim-trak guns to the cabinet.

ebay
I cant remember exactly what kind it was. just went to random "gray tinted plexi glass".

sold :(
