Title: WG25k7193 + J-Pac too much red
Post by: michel2506 on March 26, 2011, 11:19:14 am
Hi,

I am converting an old Primal Rage cabinet to Mame system with a J-Pac.

Everything seems to be working as i get a stable picture output to the arcade monitor and can see my desktop, startup Mame etc.

Only problem is,  the Colors are off when using the PC, everything is too red when compared to the original jamma game that i got with it. Does anyone know how to adjust the color output so i get a good color display?

My monitor is a WG25k7193 and i found red drive and red cutoff adjustments on the back of the monitor, but i was afraid of trying this as i didn't know what this does exactly (the service manual even discourages adjusting these values.

And i don't know if it matters much for my question, but i live in Europe.

Thanks in advance for your help!

1:) display this... on the monitor... ideally on a black background, so all you can see it the gradient.

2:) adjust red drive until the dark end of the red matches green and blue ends.

in this example: http://1zelda.com/tv/pics/rgb.jpg (http://1zelda.com/tv/pics/rgb.jpg) the green drive is too high.

3:) adjust red cutoff until the red gradient gets darker at the same time as the green and blue. (match the ramp)

4:) tada!

5:) profit?
